Sebring Regional Airport’s U.S. Sport Aviation Expo will have a grand entrance through the stunning airport Galleria January 23-26, 2019 flanked with aircraft parked directly in front of the entrance.
Captivating speakers
Visitors will have the opportunity to listen to many new speakers such as Dr. Jocelyn Dunn, NASA Research Scientist; Scott Farnsworth, DASH Flight Team; Barrington Irving; the youngest person to pilot a plane around the world solo… to name a few. Some of our 2018 speakers included Captain Rahmani, first female fixed-wing pilot in the Afghan Air Force; Peggy Chabrian, President and Founder of Women in Aviation, International; Kat Swain, instructor of military and civilian pilots, and now a drone pilot expert; Dr. Story Musgrave, Astronaut who performed the first shuttle spacewalk on Challenger’s first flight into space. More Pilot benefits: 2nd and 3rd Class Medical Exams To Be Offered
Dr. Drury will return to perform 2nd and 3rd class medical exams on-site at the Sport Aviation Expo. Sebring Airport is thrilled to again have this option available for all pilots.
Large scale MultiGP sanctioned Drone Race will be happening again for 2019
MultiGP continues as the official race partner for the DroneZone in 2019. Race Sanctioning & Management is by MultiGP.
DroneZone will again feature one of the largest drone races in the world with participants from all major continents in 2019’s kickoff racing and exhibitor event. Highlighting the excitement will be both team and individual pilot races with winning prizes of $20,000 for each category. DroneZone will be an unprecedented live experience and immersive environment with drones flying over and around the audience and the exhibitors’ areas at speeds up to 100 MPH. Spectators will be able to get within five feet of the action, with protective netting for safe viewing.
Daily flight demonstrations will take place indoors from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and hands on “Fly-A-Drone” workshops will be on the hour, every hour. Expo will be demonstrating both the professional, and recreational sides of the drone world. Drone experts from all over the U.S. will be presenting forums on many aspects of drone ownership, Part107, 333, 336 safe effective operations and business management.
Homebuilt Display Parking Registration
Expo is encouraging people with amateur-built aircraft or kit planes to fly in to Sebring’s Expo and show off for four days. The Sport Aviation Expo is creating a special display space for all homebuilt aircraft. Pilots simply register their aircraft by filling out the homebuilt form online and purchase a discounted four-day event pass. Expo will create a display sign for each aircraft with the plane’s specific information. People with amateur-built aircraft are asked to sign up here.
Important Notes:
- Demonstration times may be adjusted based on aircraft densities and weather.
- Sebring Regional Airport will operate a control tower from 8:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. daily.
- All flights, including Expo demonstration flights, will operate under control of the tower.
- Demonstration flights before 9:00 a.m. and after 5:00 p.m. daily will be coordinated by Expo Air Operations.
- Aircraft in the Expo area must use the self-service refueling facility; refueling by gas cans is not allowed.
- Aircraft not in the Expo area are asked to contact Sebring Flight Service for fuel.
