We are retired and enjoying Venice very much. John, I and Sharlee our 50 lb rescue fly to Hideaway Bahamas monthly, just over 200 miles from the Venice Airport. The Bahamas is a Bahamian Territory and member of the British Commonwealth, speak English and drive on the other side !. Yes you must have a valid passport and 6 months left, when returning per the international regulations.
You need an International decal costing $28.00. Hideaway is dog friendly. Just $10.00 for your Bahamian dog permit, order from us or James 4 days prior to your leaving> Pets need a US rabies vaccination to return.

Suncoast Air Center
Suncoast Air Center is the only full service Fixed Base Operator at the Venice Municipal Airport but we never act like it. Venice Flying Club
The Venice Flying Club was formed in 2015 to allow pilots to share in the excitement and benefits of owning an aircraft, without the cost and responsibility of sole ownership. Our goal is to provide a social environment around flying and aircraft ownership without the cost and responsibility of sole ownership. We operate a beautiful, well equipped 1976 Cessna 182P. Our members are active in the aviation community and their decades of flying experience are an invaluable resource. Our club consists of nine members with various backgrounds and experience in flying, ranging from recreational to commercial pilots. Some of our members are locals, while others are seasonal residents of the Sarasota/Venice area. We meet monthly to discuss club business, share education and experiences, and just talk aviation.
