15 Sep Special Bulletin from TSA
September 14, 2012
The Joint Terrorism Task Force (JTTF) notified the FAA and TSA of a potential threat of an individual wanting to crash a GA aircraft into his girlfriend’s house or another building.
Aircraft: 1979 Piper Archer (PA28-181)
Registration: N2453U
Local police searched the aircraft hangar at the Apopka Airport (X04) in Florida and found the subject’s vehicle containing blood and the vehicle exhaust hooked up for a suicide attempt. The subject was not at the scene and the aircraft was gone. Witness accounts state the aircraft departed Apopka Airport at approximately 9:30pm local time on September 11th. It appears the subject may have landed at another airport or possibly crashed the aircraft.
If anyone locates the aircraft, please contact JTTF Federal Air Marshal Cheyenne Sykes at: 407-702-8677.
