Description:
Improve Runway Safety Area [Relocate Runway 13/31, Taxiway D, EMAS Installation – Design Phase, & Reimbursement for associated Environmental Assessment] – 13/31, Rehabilitate Taxiway [Rehabilitate Taxiways A & C – Construction Phase], Rehabilitate Taxiway Lighting [Rehabilitate Taxiways A & C Lighting – Construction Phase]

This grant will provide federal funding for the Venice Municipal Airport in Florida.
The improvement of Runway 13/31 safety area will improve the level of safety of operations at the airport.
This project funds the design of the Runway 13/31 safety area improvement project which includes relocation of the runway and installation of an Engineered Material Arresting System.
The current taxiway lighting system has reached the end of its useful life and requires rehabilitation to enhance safe airfield operations during low visibility conditions.
The rehabilitation of the taxiway is needed to maintain structural integrity of the pavement.
This rehabilitation project consists of a mill and overlay of approximately 5,400 linear feet of taxiway pavement.
Venice Municipal Airport is a reliever airport associated with Venice, Florida. The local point of contact is Mr. Chris Rozansky, Airport Administrator. Mr. Chris Rozansky may be reached at (941) 486-2711.
Following this grant announcement, FAA will notify the sponsor of the allocation. A grant offer will be issued subsequently for this grant as finally formulated.
