It’s easy to believe and accept main stream media reporting at face value. Until you know the facts and only then do you begin to realize how easy it is to skim the truth to make a sensationalistic story. Without watchdog oversight by industry and private initiatives, misinformation in the media — and therefore the public — perpetuates. AOPA, down to the local level, must remain in constant vigilance mode and call the media on this blatant omissions of facts.
All airport funding is underwritten by users of the National Air Transportation System, namely through commercial air ticket and aviation fuel purchases. In other words, if you do not use the system, you do not fund airport improvements.
