21 Jan VENICE, FL – LUNCH BUNCH January 20th, 2022
Approximately 17 assembled for Lunch Bunch today, apparently Omicron keeping some away. Most desiring to dine outside, so Sebring was the obvious choice!
Bonanza Paul volunteered to give the briefing, no guests, everybody had a ride, 17 to the restaurant, Done! Lisa Waygood popped in to introduce herself, here from the Seattle area, flying out of KVNC with her Columbia 350 4-5 hours a day to build time! Today she launched round trip to Waycross or Statesboro, GA. Currently tied down on ramp South of hangars, stop by to say Hello!!
Some takeoff delays due to Jet traffic waiting for clearance RW 5 blocking taxiway. This has been reported to Airport Management, need a parking pad there so others can get around! Some made a U-turn proceeded to RW 13 to takeoff!!
Weather was good , light winds, clear below cloud deck at 3,500 – 5,000,, smooth air cruising below clouds, temp in low 70’s! Traffic pattern smooth at Sebring, race track busy with race cars and restaurant busy with race teams as well. Plenty of room for us on outside deck area!
Cirrus Ernie, RV Dave and Warrior Mick (BLT MICK) all stopped on way home at Arcadia for fuel top off, $4.17/gal.
News Flash – Belgium Teenager 19 year old Zara Rutherford just completed a Record Solo Round the World trip! Flying a Czeck made ultralight Shark, she completed the trip in 5 months! Many delays because of diplomatic and covid concerns!
We completed our mission, good job!!
